Antinny worm creates data havoc in Japan by infecting Winny Peer to Peer (P2P) File Sharing Program

Antinny worm creates data havoc in Japan by infecting Winny Peer to Peer (P2P) File Sharing Program

You sit at your desk at work and come up with a great idea, "Hey, I heard about this cool utility that allows me to share files over the internet...".  You download it and install it (your company's security policy allows end users to install software...) on your machine, open it up and try to use it.  Amazingly, it works (your company does not care about outbound connections to the internet...) and you are connected to the Peer to Peer network and can start sharing and downloading files.

Seem harmless?  Well, take a look at the story below where this type of behavior, combined with terrible corporate information security, is creating humongous problems in Japan.  How would you like to be responsible for sharing Top-secret or business data with the world?  This could cause a great deal of disruption in your life, to say the least...  Is it really worth it?
