Inviting Disaster - Don't Use the Administrator Account for Every Day Tasks

Please Create a Basic User Account for Every Day Computer Use

There's an old rule in computer security called 'Least Privilege'.  This means that a user or program is granted minimum possible privileges to permit an action. In doing so, the operating system as a whole is not exposed to unwarranted or excessive actions that may cause damage or promote further negative actions.

Using an administrator account to read email, browse the internet, or share files is the polar opposite of Least Privilege and will aid trojans, spyware and hackers in infiltrating your computer.

CyberNoggin.com recently published an article that describes how to create and use a limited user account on a daily basis, and how to easily switch to an administrator account on the fly when needed.
